PT Patra Niaga was established on February 27, 1997 with the name "PT Elnusa Hope". This partnership as an entity set new effort by the Shareholders, the PT Pertamina (Persero) based on the Decision Letter (SK) The Minister of Justice Decree No. C2-4238.HT.01.01.TH.1997 with the purpose of developing a number of subsidiaries PT Enusa who were still eligible to be part of the plan PT Elnusa be a public enterprise.
Furthermore, PT Pertamina repositioning the company to expand its business activities in downstream oil and gas industry (Oil & Gas) Indonesia. According to Article 1 of Law Number 22 year 2001 concerning oil and gas downstream sector includes processing activities, transportation, storage, and retail oil products.
Since it was established, company has a number of times the process of sharpening the scope of work in line with the vision, mission and purpose of partnership to strengthen the role of a subsidiary of PT Pertamina's downstream oil and gas.
